Microphone Cables
XLR microphone cables are the backbone of any recording studio or live sound setup. Balanced XLR cables use three conductors to reject electromagnetic interference, keeping your signal clean over long runs. For studio work, invest in Mogami or Canare cables — the difference in noise floor is audible. For live sound, Pro Co and Whirlwind offer tour-ready durability. Budget options from Hosa and Behringer work well for rehearsal spaces and home studios.
Key specs to consider: conductor gauge (thicker is better for long runs), shielding type (spiral, braided, or quad), connector quality (Neutrik Gold is the gold standard), and jacket flexibility (important for stage use).
Speaker Cables
Speaker cables carry high-current amplified signals from power amps to loudspeakers. Unlike instrument or microphone cables, speaker cables need thick gauge conductors (12-16 AWG) to handle the current without signal loss. Never substitute microphone or instrument cables for speaker cables — the thin conductors can overheat and degrade your sound.

Instrument Cables

Digital Audio Cables
